The human being for centuries has lived embarked on a journey after the search for only one thing … HAPPINESS. And although we know and we are aware that the most certain source of happiness that any man can have is the sure salvation in God; We know that there are many people who love God and are genuinely unhappy. Why is this? All people give a different interpretation of what it is to be happy. Some think that your happiness is based on the balance number of your bank account. Others think that their happiness is based on the job position they occupy. On the other hand, there are those who think that happiness is based on finding the ideal partner and getting married. Or maybe in the number of children that can be born. But all these examples could be reasons for the joy to manifest in us; but none of them alone have the potential to make us completely happy!
So … How can I achieve true happiness?
In a world where social networks continually remind us how unsuccessful we are, it is necessary to learn to live in contentment. The satisfaction or the pleasure that a person feels regardless of the circumstances.
Contentment??? You will say; How can I live in contentment when everything goes wrong for me … everything goes wrong …
In order to live in contentment, it is essential to follow these 3 rules:
- First we must invite God to be part of our life; and not only be part, but be the center of our lives. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” S. Matthew 6:33 KJV
- We must learn not to compare ourselves to anyone since God has made us unique and we do not all have the same circumstances. “Because we dare not count ourselves or compare ourselves with some who praise themselves; but they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are not judicious. ” 2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV
- We must look in the rear view mirror what we have left behind and through the windshield what we have in front of us. It is necessary to thank God for what has happened in our lives because although we may not be where we want to be; Thank God we are not where we started. “Brothers, I myself do not claim to have already achieved it; but one thing I do: certainly forgetting what is behind, and reaching out to what is ahead, ” Philippians 3:13 KJV
We must be happy with what we have today, recognizing that we live better than many other people and that an attitude of Gratitude 🙏🏼 will bring greater blessing to your life.
